The chef looks like Mr. Bean
-
Thanks for the upload.
Sir John is just annoying - imposing stricter rules on everyone to make the experience more real while ordering modern food, for example. Glad the chef refused - and that he pointed it out later!
Also the plummy tones from the Lady lose all power when she comes out with utterances such as "various different". Bad, bad English.

How can anyone romanticize the past after watching this show? If you're a woman (especially an unmarried one), or a servant; life must have been so difficult.
-
old rasor and wiped soap/cream for the face my dad has one of those items from his grandfather
-
Kenny/Ellen (Kellen?) 4 lyfe.
-
edgar does seem sensitive and basically nice, and it could be the editing, but it's interesting that he only mentions the inherent injustice of the whole system when he (rightly) feels unfairly treated or unappreciated by a superior
-
they were worried about their weight, back in Edwardin times, fat bellies was considered a sign of wealth
-
Also at 43.48 They love each other??? They have only known each other a week lol
-
I do love this show but its so bloody edited beyond belief. Plus the fact of them having to pretend they are back in the early 1900's with high digital cameras and a team following their every move, yeh must have been very authentic lol. The best thing about it, everyone commenting on here falling for it saying they dont like someone. Its a television programme you utter morons lol

How horrible that this woman thought she had to believe herself superior to her sister during the project. That is ridiculous. She and her husband could have easily chosen to invite her friends or treat her well but chose not to. The wife is dissapointing. As a physician she seems to have no interest in the experience of women at that time, and seems to relish in the passivity of her role.

This chef is amazing. What devotion and passion about the food. Despite the serious lack of help or terrible conditions. I hope he got a great gig after this.
-
I seriously HATE the formalities of the Edwardian.... the lack of love, especially within the family, means that hell literally existed on earth.
-
i could not take them killing all those birds. some of these people are just disgusting.
-
I'm a little annoyed that "Sir" John is fine with shooting down numerous waterfowl, but he can't stand a pig's head "staring" at him.
-
The star of this show is the chef. Imagine having to cook all those meals on a coal fired range, not easy. I wasn't a fan of this "house" series because the authenticity went out the window more & more as it went on. By the end both up and downstairs just gave up. The shows producers show have laid the law down with them all. Either stay true to your character and the period. Or scrap the whole thing & call it a day. Mr. Edgar seemed nice. But he and the housekeeper failed lay down the law!
-
thank god this world came to an end.....it's disgusting!

SIR JOHN IS A PIECE OF SHIT.
-
I have a great respect for Mr Edgar. He is a wise old gentleman!
-
I agree with everyone's love of Mr. Edgar. What a sweet old gentleman....and a true 'gentleman'. Unlike 'sir' John. What an ass he is. When he said in the last episode that he felt 'benevolent' toward the staff, I almost choked. He sure doesn't show it, nor do I think he knows the meaning of the word. I admire the staff for sticking with the project. For what they're being put through, they do deserve a pat on the back.

Sir John is a hypocrite!!! His sister in law has his number!!! His ER doc wife has no problem looking the other way. They picked the right couple to play the "wealthy" part!!! Their eldest son appears to be the only one with some compassion.

That butler is such a drama queen...
-
He feels hurt by the master's insensitivity, lack of appreciation, even anger. And he is right, of course. Of course, it's not an easy job, to be a Butler. But as I said in the previous episode's comments, this is wealth that makes people insensible, ungrateful, lacking humbleness to even slightest degree... The more they have - the more they demand, which is very sad, indeed. ;*
-
I feel sorry for the poor Mr Edgar... He looks really worried and sad most of the time, but now even more - and he is such a dignified gentleman... He must have truly and beautifully old-fashioned spirit which is a mindset of a true gentleman. And like that he never raises his voice even when he is angry, even talking to the servants lower in ranks, he speaks in such a dignified manner...! He communicates directly what his thoughts and feelings are and doing so in a clearly understandeable way.
