A little late on this one, but mine had the same leak where the water comes out. You just need to tighten that black piece where the water is leaking. Just fixed mine yesterday, glad I didn't rush out to get a new one.

PUR garbage.

Tastes like shit mixed with piss.

does the water taste better?

You need to go on ahead and spend some big bucks and buy a serious filtration unit. Get one from an Amway IBO. :P

My Dupont Filter is leaking just as bad. I called customer service and we figured out that the filter itself is cracked and is the actual cause of the leak. They sent me a new filter via mail; no charge. O_o
Apparently, when you hear a loud "POP" from the filter, that means that either the filter itself just cracked or the unit has cracked.

They all leak. Brita and PUR are both made from POS materials. Instead of sending me 14 different adapters how about you make the fitting from metal instead of plastic. Its much harder to strip metal threads you cheap fucks.

I have purchaed the chrome and also the white Pur water filters and within 2 months they both sprang a leak at the window that meters the filter. Is Pur addressing this issue? Thats a lot of money in 2 filters.

My tapwater has 80ppm. Just bought a pur water purifier that snaps onto the faucet and my zero water meter read 300ppm. Then I let the water run through it for ten minutes and it read 80ppm - same as the tap water contamination level.
So new filters themselves give off contaminants (outgassing?), but with a few gallons of filter rinsing, the contaminants will disappear (I'm hoping). So the lesson is to rinse new filters before consumption.
My other pur standalone doesn't clean anything.

@myNEONCITY What action? Do u mean the New POS that I review on my page?
fuck a washer. Mine does the same thing, it's 3 months old. Poor engineering, poorly made Chinese plastic parts. I'd pay 3 times as much for an identical unit made from machined brass. I also had the "chrome" plastic fall off one day into my garbage disposal. Fun! What a piece of shit.

I know this is an old video, but My identical PUR filter just started doing the same thing. It's not a washer or a seal, but the the lower plastic housing that hold the aerator broke. Maybe some good glue would fix it, but I need to find a glue I don't mind in my drinking water!
