how fast do theys bike go

I have a '78 400 Enduro that I love, but, I don't think it's engine matches the earlier 360s for smoothness and power. I'd love to find a clean 70, 71, or 72. Cherish your bike !

First year for the Torque Induction (reed valve) motor.

The old boy says that the pipe is definitely a Bassini Pipe, identical for both the 250 and 360 enduros. 69 bucks in 1973!This was a better pipe for an enduro model than a Hooker as it was more of a mid range torque pipe , compared to the Hooker Headers pipe popular at the time. Hooker pipe sounded real wicked at high rpm though! ! With this Bassani, you can really feel the engine "Come on the pipe" as the ol boys used to say! Thanks for making the old boy smile!

I had a 1973 DT-2 250 Competition green. The front fender was changed to a "Mudder" and it had a Hooker header exhaust. I wish I never sold it! Never sell it dude, what a gem! I have a 2007 DRZ400 Suzuki now. But I still miss my old 250!

Is that a Bassani pipe? They looked cool and sounded great, but i still prefer the original Yamaha factory pipes. When i was 12, this bike was the holy grail. I had a Mini Enduro, but dreamed of the bigger Yamaha Enduros.
Thanks for comments. This Enduro was bought new by my uncle when I was a kid. When he passed, I found it tucked away in the back of his garage. So I brought it back from Canada, to here , US. It did run at the time, but after awhile the condencer failed. I fixed her up, new piston...... Im watching for a clutch cable on e-bay, That should be it, other than a new set of knees....
