A brief collection of video footage, taken when services were diverted away from the East Coast Mainline (ECML), due to planned maintenance work taking place between Newark and Grantham.

Trains were diverted via the joint line, leaving the ECML at Newark, passing through Lincoln, Sleaford and Spalding before rejoining the mainline at Peterborough.

Filmed at Lincoln Central station, this video features the following:

Railhead Treatment Train

Electric Intercity 225 (Class 91/MK IV) sets were hauled along the non electrified line by Class 67 locomotives, which also had to generate Electric Train Supply to the coaches for lighting, heating/aircon, and catering equipment

HSTs and Adelantes passing through under their own power (diesel).
