This video is dedicated to Andy Leavy, who died suddenly and unexpectedly on Dec. 31, 2009, at the age of 47, following a 14 month battle with cancer. In this video, spanning 25 years, you will see Andy in all walks of life, from his comical side to his serious side, and everything in-between, with photos and video footage of family adventures, holidays, friends, and animal rescue. The songs are by John Denver, two of them very special to us, were played at our wedding. Andy is remembered as a dedicated family man, very close to both U.S. and England families, a respected and admired friend to so many, and an animal welfare volunteer (CAAWS, Animal Rescue New Orleans, Muttshack, and Louisiana State Animal Response Team.) His wonderful sense of humour, with his British accent, brought laughter everywhere he went, yet he was a true gentleman, with heartfelt kindness and generosity. I have lost my husband, my soul mate, my best friend, as well as my business partner and animal response teammate. We were one, and I now attempt to function in a life forever changed, with a heart ripped apart. I miss Andy dearly.

  • Watching this over and over. Lord, I miss you so much, the fun times we had .

  • Just watched again to get my Andy 'fix.' Miss ya, buddy.

  • All the memories I have of Andy including laughter. A kindred spirit he always was and will forever be.

  • Absolutely marvelous to remember Andy this way. And Yes, John Denver's songs were perfect - almost as if they were made for Andy and your family. Blessings to you all.

  • Absolutely BEAUTIFUL video. Such a kind tribute. My favorite was when Andy was acting like one of the kids at Easter, swinging the Easter basket and dancing around all happy about hunting for eggs. He had a special God given gift to make people smile. Pam, you did a remarkable job making the video...... God Bless & take care......

  • He looks like a very special person. I can tell you miss him so much. I hope he was greeted by all his animal friends when he passed over.

  • Pam, I didn't know Andy, in fact have never met you in person, but I know the work you both have done for the animals of the New Orleans area. This is a beautiful tribute to your beloved, Andy. The John Denver music is perfect and I cried the entire time watching it.

    Peace,

    Brenda Dubourg
