She must have had the capability to do this vault - I doubt even north korea would send a gymnast to do a vault she couldn't even pull around in practice, so pretty amazing all the same, I think

@No1ZmeskalFan actually a male gymnast from cuba attempted this vault at the same olympics - he also crashed, but he was alot more hurt than she was!

Given what the vault was like then, she was quite close. Amazing that she attempted this.

And besides Produnova attempting the vault 19 years later, what's also interesting is that she was very strong and powerful, along with any other male so willing to attempt this vault. Choe, on the other hand, looks as scrawny as someone who hadn't eaten for a week!

@TwisterFlipp95 Haha....I understand. It almost seems like camera tricks.....just like when i first saw Elena Mukhinas bar routine from 77-79...i couldnt believe i was really seeing what was happening. But it is certainly fun to see this kind of stuff when it does happen. Little did they know at the time how long it would be before it was attempted again (and even then it was only done by ONE other girl!!!) Amazing stuff! :) ;)

to gymnasticsforever17.....if you were truly a gymnastics fan you would know that its well documented and talked about alot that this girl attempted this in '80. I have known that since Kharkov did it in 88 at the Olympics when the commentator said it. No need to try and argue with history just because you don't know the facts ;)
