Ten years after Rob (formally Bobby) rescued Melissa from the blob invasion, the aliens interrupt their high school graduation. Only this time, they abduct him! It's Melissa's turn to be the hero!

I made this second PC game in 1998 with the help of a program called "Game-Maker" by Recreational Software Designs (not to be confused with other game making software with similar names). This sequel is far more polished than the first part, and I think it's still pretty good today.

The variety of gameplay has been left intact, but the levels flow together much better. Melissa will be fighting, floating, swimming, surfing, and puzzle solving across the universe on her quest to find Rob.

For more details on how the game was made and to download and play it yourself, visit: http://www.mazeguy.net/blobs2.html

  • So basically this program let you custom-make your own games that looked and sounded like Genesis games in some sort of easy GUI?

  • Pretty much. It was kind of a predecessor to Mark Overmars' more popular Game Maker.

  • @Knapperr Different software. This isn't the Mark Overmars Game Maker; this is RSD Game-Maker. There's also a GameMaker for the Commodore 64. I've heard good things about the commodore one, but of the three I think RSD's is the most user-friendly -- if a bit ancient nowadays.
