  • @sirketmirketanlamam

well maybe it's a little annoying for the uploader to write about languages in video comments so I am continuing in a p.m

  • @idonperg hahahh oluusun :D ah, languages are so interesting. but we are a language that is read as its written! :P but i dont think a greeks difficulty d be about r, i think greeks cant say "umlauts" such as ö ü and our specific letters like ı. and ş ofc!

what is the standard of saying r in greek soft or hard, do u know it?

thanks for the friend invite btw! :)

  • @sirketmirketanlamam

:P...yes greek ρ(r) is supposed to be like the italian or russian one....

I know about turkish r....for exaple in the word "olursun" I can't hear it at all... it sounds to me like oluusun/oluwsun :P but in some cases r in greek is said softer...not like the turkish one but not like rrrr at all xD for example μακριά is prounounced rapidly "makrya" with the r almost like the turkish one and not makrrya.. :)

  • @idonperg haha yea, i was shocked when my bf said " why do you say 'teşekkürlersch' " i was like "what?!" :D like i said its just about how we use our tongue, because rs arent the way they are in greek, we say it much softer. :) i m interested in greek, so i know, some of my greek friends warned me about saying "prosohi" etc, they said i say it too soft, now i dont anymore in greek!

  • @sirketmirketanlamam

:P hehe...cool....But for me it's very obvious that sound between th and sh...just in the ending r.. XD I found just a blog site that some non-native and some native speakers where arguing for that reason...Tha natives do not notice that... :P

  • @idonperg :) it's just about how we use our tongue i guess, we dont make this on purpose. my boyfriend is german and he noticed the same thing, so hearing this from 2 people is pretty shocking to me :D

  • @greatestdirector

    hehe...Greeks too...

non-native speaker: -"how do I pronounce that?"

native one: -"exactly as you see it" :P
