Offense Matches Defense in Four Match Unbeaten Streak
Prior to the past two home games, the Strikers had managed seven goals in their previous seven games. Against the Puerto Rico Islanders and the NSC Minnesota Stars, the offense came alive with five different players scoring a total of six goals. The scoring finally caught up to the solid play from the defense. The Striker back line has been stingy, allowing two goals over the past four games.
The offensive surge has come from all new sources as all six goals scored came from Strikers who had yet to score this season. Cristian Arrieta, Yoximar Granado and Jean Philippe Peguero all tallied their first goals as Strikers. Brian Shriver netted two goals Saturday, June 11th against the NSC Minnesota Stars, his first two of the season.
