United Airlines Flight 232 was a scheduled flight operated by United Airlines between Denver and Philadelphia via Chicago. On 19 July 1989, the Douglas DC-10 (Registration N1819U) suffered an uncontained failure of its number 2 engine which destroyed all three of the aircraft's hydraulic systems. With no controls working except the thrust levers for the two remaining engines, it broke up during an emergency landing on the runway at Sioux City, Iowa, killing 110 of its 285 passengers and one of the 11 crew members.

Owing to the skill of the crew and a DC-10 instructor pilot, 175 passengers and 10 crew members survived the crash. The disaster is famous within the aviation community as a textbook example of successful Crew Resource Management, due to the effective use of all the resources available aboard the plane for help during the emergency.

  • You vids are very nice MinnesotaMan13. But i've been wondering. Can FS2004 work on windows vista?

  • Yes, it does work on Vista and quite well. I used FS9 on Vista for a few months but I went back to XP when I got my new pc.

  • how doyou get get the stapelton airport

  • how doyou get the stapelton airport

  • I'm not trying to make light of the situation, but 1 cent for a child's ticket? Try getting that deal nowadays....

  • @Police5861 pilots can gravity-drop the gear on a DC-10 and most jets. And it's hydraulics ;)

  • If hydrolices fail there is no landing gear

  • @9T6Q Really? Ok, it has had it's fair share of incidents but 'the worst airplane ever made'? I think that's a bit harsh. There are about 150 of them still flying today on regular cargo or passenger service so I don't think it really deserves that label.

  • @MinnesotaMan13 It also works on Windows 7.

  • That's so fake at about 2:55 the elevators moved....

  • this is just Windows Movie Maker.

  • @MinnesotaMan13 was this video made with Soney Vegas Pro or with out?
