  • Gonna need a bigger place soon. It's starting to look like your old apartment lol. I wish I had that problem. Thanks for taking time over the years to show us your progress. Hope all is well.

  • @1kgsxrk7 Eddie - you are right! Trying to hold off on getting a real shop until we understand just how much space we need. Hopefully this summer though.

  • I wouldn’t put the dryer between the pump and the tank because the air is moving at if fastest there and it’s HOT. The dryer works by chilling the air to condense the liquid so you want it as cool as possible to start and moving slowly.

If your worried about the water in the main tank? I run a BigCat screw type air compressor and it generates a lot of water and I just let it out daily and the tank is now 10 years old and still in use. Also I would add an oil separator before the dryer

  • @drzboy101 What's the difference between an oil separator and a filter? Right now I've got an IR Filter/Regulator running off the tank before the chiller - northern tool part number 404798

  • I handily solved the noise problem with my compressor. I built a small shed outside and put it there. That way I don't hear the noise, the neighbors do...Actually, I put an automatic timer on the compressor to cut it off at 10PM, since I am basically a humane person.

  • @BuickDoc Great idea - would love to be able to do that in the future. Not only less noise, but more shop space!

  • The biggest thing that makes noise on a compressor is the air intake. Muffle that noise or move the intake outside and the noise will drop to just the mechanical.

  • Not a complant; Maybe some cheap pieces of plywood cupboard with sound proofing will cut it more, and help safety, if it pops :(

  • @BuickDoc great idea....I'd do the same. There is no way I could live with the noise coming out that compressor and having it kick in only to scare the shit out of you.. lol...
