Hi carlos nice vid and almost a nice catch. I see these vids are from 2006. I started out on a walkera 60 and spent an absolute fotune on parts lols. After 6 months I went out and bought a trex 450 v2 and Pheonix flight sim and wow what a difference in quality. Your flying has greatly improved and I rekon Im probly at about the same stage of flying as you are now having watched your latest ones. Im more impressed with the quality of your flycamone vid (fantastic quality) as in no wavey lines.

To sum up, I think that the Dragonfly 4, or any of the other mini fixed pitch helicopters that all seem to be clones of each other (esky honeybee FP, GWS Twister etc etc) are a great place to start. There is much to learn in just controlling the helicopter in normal flight before you go 3D, wait till you try nose in for the first time ! ;)
I think you will save money in the long run this way, which you can then use to buy a bigger, better heli.
Good Luck!

Learning to fly just takes time and you will crash and break bits, though you can reduce this if you spend time on a simulators (FMS is free) before hand and just try flying tail in (tail pointing towards you) till you get more confident.
No this dragonfly is not 3D capable, it is a fixed pitch model (all the walkera 4 series are fixed pitch), for 3D you need collective pitch, e.g. Esky honeybee cp2 is a basic one. CP helis are more expensive, complex and break more easily in my experience.

They are great starter helicopters and most parts are fairly tough, except the skids which break quite easily (replace them when they break with the Extreme Skids - much tougher and make the heli heavier and easier to handle). The main parts that I had to replace were, main rotor blades, main rotor holder and the bearings to which the rotor head clips on (though glueing them in place stopped me losing them).

That's really cool!
I'm thinking of getting a Dragonfly, I hear they are great starter helicopters, + in the future, they are 3D capable so you can advance forward.
I was wondering though are they durable? will I have to constantly buy spare parts?

good luck 2 u 2
I have Walkera #4,Belt CP,AXE CP,Hummingbird CP,and a Shogun 400. I just got the Walkera #4 off RCU for $30.00 + the $11.00 worth of parts to fix. I maidened the #4 yesterday and LOVE it !! I think I'll use it for my practice heli. Try to keep the tail towards you until you get comfortable, then go side-in and nose-in. After you get good at hovering in all directions, the you're ready for forward flight. A sim helps alot too. Good luck on your training !! You're getting better !!!

Thanks! :D Actually this video was taken quite a while back so the videos of my belt-cp show better where I am training wise. Though judging by my crash a few months ago (onboard vid to appear soon-ish) perhaps I'm not a lot better than I was here! ;)
I also love my walkera 4, clearly its not in the same league at the belt-cp but is so much better for just nipping out into the garden with :D
Thanks for watching!

Thanks :D
I'm really enjoying the Belt-CP, the only problem is the wind, which has been quite high here for the last couple of months and is stopping me getting out much :(
