@martcarey I agree with you that the guitar is not a melody instrument and is only used in tad sessions for rhythm. But this guitar playing does not provide a good rhythm whatsoever. it is all over the place and the chord selection is quite poor.

@slatted44 no I do not agree.The acoustic guitar is NOT a traditional Irish instrument and is used in this context only as a backing rythm which jogs quite nicely along here.People do not come along to sessions to be graded , they come to enjoy themselves and the music.
