Thanks for your constructive, well thought out comment. I can see from your use of proper grammar and spelling, you are well qualified to pass judgment on these high school girls' language skills, and make false assumptions about the purpose behind the film. I don't think anyone would be foolish enough to "try and look cute" by doing something "all stupid." But of course, one themselves may give that impression by mocking someone's looks and using politically incorrect, overused insults.

@Tosy85 Ha ha, yes. I never meant to misinform anyone about my nationality. Thanks for the nice words. We will surely keep practicing! This was originally for a high school project for our Spanish class. My teacher had a fun time picking apart all of our mistakes with us, as we know there were MANY.

@AuBonHunter Thanks for the encouragement! learning another language can be tricky, especially in high school. But the basics that I learned have helped me communicate with a lot of Spanish speakers in my experience. It is a good skill to have for sure. I think from my translation of your sentence, you are saying that our problem lies in translating things word for word rather than whole phrases. I think you are right on that one, if that is what you said in the first place :)
