    but his oud is half tone less than normal ,, means F is actually E .

  • The oud has its own tuning. This man is capable of playing the oud like an Andalusian guitar from the Ummayyad period of Arab hegemony over Spain. I have heard one recording before from the Oxfam Arabia CD, probably the one most beautiful piece of "guitar" music I have ever heard. "Min Ashur Ila Ishbiliya". Listen to that before you die. Thank you Naseer for your utter brilliance.

  • @skalatka Do you mean that the tuning he's using is E# , B# C# F# B# E#? I think Naseer shamma is the only one who use this tuning , am I right ?

  • @PsychosisGnome not a lot thousands of years...the music revolution of this kind of music was about 1500 years before in Byzantium.before Byzantium the musics of all civilizations was very simple melodies.
