So your a good old southern boy who might be able to give me some advice.
I have a bit of land which i was going to put a couple of piglets on for a few month until they are ready for the freezer.Are they hard work to keep contained,take care of,feed etc.
Ive kept goats,chickens and ducks before but not pigs.

@vidinman I don't think pigs are too high maintance. Clean water, straw bedding, and fresh feed goes a long way. We like grain feeding them but pasture is ok too depending on what your perfer, they might just take a bit longer to grow. Once they get older they have a bad rooting nature and they will like to chew on things. If they get to rooting too bad you can put a ring in their noses to help prevent that. Otherwise that is about as bad as it gets. Make sure they are wormed good as well.

@MudboginTK Thanks for the advice.
The reason i want to pasture them is cos i have some land covered with old grape vines and i think the pigs will clean it up for me.
Is your farm a family affair and how big is it (the farm that is)

@vidinman I actually have them at the farm of a good friend of the family who lives nearby. I help him out a lot in exchange for getting to keep my animals there because I can't at my actual house. It is over 200 acres approximately.
