I currently own 4 of these speakers and they are just amazing. Energy created a very high quality product with the Rc-30 for a very modest price.

Hi. I have the Energy Take Classic 5.1 system. I am planning to upgrade my R & L Front Speakers, and Im thinking of Energy C100 or C300. Do you think that would be ok? Thanks.

What kind of sound are you looking for? Do you want finesse or raw power? And what is your budget? There are a lot of good speakers available, for every tastes. Let's presume you have a budget of 1000$. A good starting point for balanced performance would be either of these brands : Energy, Paradigm, PSB, KEF and B&W. For finesse I would recommend the Totem Mite. And finally, for more raw power, look for JBL or Klipsch.

svtcontour is right. To know the equivalents in woofer sizes, you just have to calculate the surface area of the woofer. That is : πR². A 5.5 inches woofer have a surface of 74.6, so two of them will be 149.3 in surface area. A 8 inches woofer have a surface of 157,9 thus it's a (little) greater surface than two 5.5 woofers.

No I think it actually works out closer to the area of an 8" woofer. The benefit of smaller drivers is they are generally lighter and faster so bass will be cleaner and tighter, however they wont play as low (depends on the drivers but in general this is true)
