i think the katt thing must be bogus. that man is too smart to waste all he has going for him to burglarize someone. he's rich, he's got kids that he is raising on his own, and i think he knows he cant be fuckin that shit up. so yeah, i think its probably some bullshit.

Not standard police procedure.
He would have likely been detained and questioned until the homeowner could be contacted and take an inventory to determine whether or not anything had been stolen. The police would have also checked for signs of forced entry so how is the report "false".
