  • I appreciate Stabenow's comments but the real issue is the $9.7 trillion stolen by the bankers in the last 5 months with no Congressional oversight. This is the real issue, not $160 million for AIG.

But we all now understand that this is about the bankers overtaking the world and the impending 1-world gvt. We have reached the point where these so-called "conspiracy theories" are now out in the open and the remaining nay-sayers are now forced to either admit it or engage in doublethink.

  • You voted for it! Maybe you should have read it!!!

  • Let it go out of busines! Oh, wait, they manage her retirement plan. Too big to fail.

  • These people need to understand that the Federal Government has no authority in the US Constitution to provide money to private business, period. READ THE CONSTITUTION WASHINGTON!! Doing so created the opportunity for rich people to make money. Honestly, I commend the execs at AIG, they did exactly what rich people do, take advantage of a situation for their own personal gain. The real crime was passing the bail out to begin with, every last elected official who voted yes to it should be JAILED

  • I'm not impressed, why did you vote for it? Can't you see the wisdom in personal responsibility? Am I entitled to the fruits of YOUR labor? My job is quite dependent on the health of GM in particular, yet I'm not so SELFISH as to think that my neighbors are responsible for my financial well being. Should I find myself in dire straits, well, that's what friends, family, and charities are for. You know what charities are right? Those VOLUNTARY groups that thrive when people aren't taxed to death!

  • The recently legislated 90% tax on AIG exec bonuses is both an ex post facto law and a bill of attainder, both of which are specifically prohibited by Article 1, Section 9 of the US Constitution. Are violations of the constitution so common that nobody cares anymore?

I think this is an attention diversion - these bonuses are small potatoes in comparison to the unconstitutional fleecing of the US taxpayer by our government.

  • Thank you Senator Stabenow. I feel that it is very important, being a Senator of the State of Michigan, that you do as much as you can to support Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 4 in the Michigan Senate. It is time that we reaffirm the Tenth Amendment and stand in rightful place of State's powers where as the Federal government has overstepped its boundaries. Thank you.

  • Yes, her lemmings appear to be censoring responses here, a few very good posts by tttcoleman have been censored on here. I would like to think it is her underlings who are censoring posts, and not "her". No responsibility as usual for the politicians, right Deb?

  • Check out Jonah Goldberg's article on townhall yesterday titled mixing politics and bonuses doesn't pay.

  • Is Debbie blocking my comments? She's all about free speach isn't she?

  • Run em ALL out of Washington and then do without them. We the people can vote on what we think this nation needs.
