Argyle Eagles vs Gilmer Buckeyes - Class 3A Division II Quarterfinal - Dec 2, 2011

The Gilmer Buckeyes (13-0) face a rematch with the Argyle Eagles (12-1) at Tiger Stadium in Corsicana. In 2010, the Eagles soared 41-14 over the Buckeyes at Lion Stadium in Ennis in the Class 3A Division II Region II Semifinal. This year the two teams meet in the Region II Final. The Buckeyes have rolled on since quarterback Luke Turner (7) broke his ankle on Oct 14 with Jordan Traylor (12) at the helm, distributing the ball to playmakers Darrion Pollard (8), Gavin Holt (3), Chase Tate (25), Traylon Webb (5), Eddiie Fluellen (2) and Jaidon Parrish (35). The Black Flag Defense of Gilmer is led by Xavier Fluellen (52), Colton Hill (49), Josh Walker (20), Adam Witcher (34) and Tanner Barr (10), among others. The Eagles feature quarterback Austin Aune, a TCU commit, who throws the ball principally to receivers Ian Sadler (5), Adam Khan (6) and Chadd Bossow (3). Defensive standouts for the Black Swarm Defense of Argyle include Carston Bossow (43), Tyler Luce-Matzke (35), Antonio Griffin (21), Sam Sizelove (41) and Matt Ryon (17).
