The thing that amazes me the most about Ali, is the fact that he came into boxing, saying "Im the greatest ever!" Way before he beat anybody. He came in saying "Im the Greatest!." And know everyone regards him as just that.

Between 1960 through 1980, there was no one more famous than Ali. He was outspoken, controversial and always in the news. Since he got Parkinson's he's faded away from the spotlight. But there is a person 40 years or older who doesnt know Muhammad Ali.

I remember watching this live and gasped "ALI!" when I saw him take the flame. That was a big moment.

But too bad the wire and cauldron contraption they used didn't live up to that standard. It just looked clumsy and out of place.
