Protesters and Police Confront each other in Times Square. #occupywallstreet

Unsettling to be so close to this outbreak of violence. The police were swinging batons and having the horses lunge at the crowd. Times square in general was quite packed and there was not much room between the barricades. If the police were telling people to move back on my side of the street, it would have been impossible.




It was tense, and I hope nobody got seriously hurt. People definitely were hurt though. I stopped filming after a while because it felt like 200 people were filming this event.

The horses lunging into the crowd made me sick to my stomach.

As all of them were released after receiving a warning it´s not realy an oppressive police state yet.

@RegioLunar I digress. I guess you have not seen the brutality tactics that the police is using to repress the protesters, nor the mass arrest of hundreds of people (approximately 700 during a march on the Brooklyn Bridge).

The protesters are peacefully exercising what is their constitutional right to assemble and petition government for redress of grievance, which is the right to make a complaint to, or seek the assistance of, one's government, without fear of punishment or reprisal. >>>

It´s their JOB to uphold order! That this "order" doens´t include leting traffic run freely at any cost is another question.

If you´d live in a police state you´d see protestors vanishing, cops using firepower to subdue the protest , mass incarcerations into your slave labour camps aka private prisons ect.

Thank you for sharing this video. It is awful seeing the police attacking the people they are supposed to serve and protect. They are acting like goons for the bankers and big corporations that have been impoverishing the middle class and the working class. It seems like a scene out of a movie where the United States becomes a Police State. Sad...
