DeMarcus Cousins v. Paul Westphal

Paul Westphaul was recently relieved of his duties after a clash with star DeMarcus Cousins. It did not help that Westphaul was 2-5 and had no system in place to help stars like Cousins and Tyreke Evans. Who is at fault here; the player or the coach?

about controlling his players rather than actually coaching them. They had no offensive system whatsoever. Just FYI, Cousins never requested a trade. Hickson told him not to call out Westphal publicly (As Tyreke Evans had done) so Cousins had a private talk with Westphal. Westphal started calling Cousins a cancer and then Cousins shouted "If you think I'm a cancer then trade me!" Do your research before you bullshit. And look at how much these players have improved since Keith Smart took over.

The amount of idiocy in these comments is crazy. For starters, Cousins is a top-5 Center in the NBA. 17/12 in 30 minutes are star numbers. Also, his attitude has never affected his game. He's got a poor attitude but the guy still goes out and plays his heart out every damn game. That's being proffesional. Finally, the firing is all on Westphal, and tbh it happened waaay too late. Westphal has history with this kinda shit with Gary Payton and Spencer Hawes. The guy's an egomaniac who cares more

The guy is a professional basketball player. You're expecting him to behave in mature manner? He's spent his life getting adulation for playing a game; probably rarely facing the consequences of his poor life choices. It's a wonder he can wipe his own ass.

i cant remember a coach getting fired this early in the season. Kings 'made' it look like it had everything to do with cousins basically rewarding bad behavior. With a new coach coming in, how will the team listen to him now when they know that his authority can be questioned?

One argument i hate to hear is that a team should hold on to a big man simply because he is a big man and its hard to get a replacement. Its not, practically every team in the NBA has a near 20-10 big man that could be a part of a title winning team.
