Well dude, you are one lucky hombre for having Gordie as your coach. Gonna' tell you a secret. Gordie was the master at the all important but forgotten art of the penalty kill. Rather than grabbing the puck in front of the net and flipping it down ice, Gordie would move down ice like he was creating a rush. Just when it appeared he was going to cross the opponent's blue line, he would do an about face to neutral ice taking more time off the clock....
@Daytonbomber gordie lane was my hockey coach last season..and he coaches how he plays. he is real aggressive and he is straight up. he tells you if you suck or not and he only puts out the players he think will get the job done. he didnt care if you were the best player on the team or not. if you messed up. he wouldnt even tell you. he would sit you until you figured out what you needed to do
One of the best brawls in IHL history was a Thanksgiving Day when Gordie Lane was traded from the Fort Wayne Komets to the Dayton Gems. That Turkey Night Gordie instigated a brawl with the Ks on his first shift. I knew right then this guy was gonna' be great. Followed Gordie thru his IHL and NHL careers and no player had more heart than Gordie Lane. Thanks HFG for posting this clip of Old Time Hockey...
