This is a video of our awesome bonfire and fireworks at my brother's house. He clears brush and small trees all year long and makes a pile and lets them dry. Then we pour some gas on the fire and light it. Greg had some doubts as to if the pile would even light - but we put the gas on, poured a 20 foot fuse of gas and then lit it. The combination of fumes and gas and very dry wood (including some pine boughs) caused a satisfying boom and had the entire pile burning within seconds. The video shown was taken about 3 minutes after the fire started. We did not video the starting because we felt the pile might have been a dud. Next year we will video the starting of the fire too!

Warning: My brother has plenty of woodpile lighting experience so I don't recommend this to just anyone. Here are his rules: (a) people doing the lighting and or gas pouring cannot be drinking, (b) there must be multiple people around during the fire starting in case something goes wrong, (c) start from at least 20 feet away as the gas fireball that comes out of the pile in the first few seconds can be 4-5 feet beyond the edge of the pile, (d) only one person touches the gas can, and (d) whomever pours the gas into the pile must be very far away from the pile when it is being lit and burning. If you saw the awesome fireball that happens at the moment it is lit due to the fumes that permeate the pile, you would completely agree that following the rules is just good common sense.

  • Because starting fires with gasoline IS retarded when everybody knows to start them with kerosene or diesel. Has nothing to do with me trying to look smart, it has to do with how unbelievable the stupid things people do, gasoline is extremely dangerous, you can kill yourself. It doesn't work as well anyway. It just blows up and doesn't start the fire as well. it's RETARDED.

  • @hyzercreek Why do you go around and post negative comments on people’s videos all the time? I think you need to spend more time worrying about yourself, and not what everyone else is doing "wrong" online. How do you justify calling them “retarded” just due to the fact they started a fire with gas? Calling them retards only makes you look like a un-educated bigot that has to put people down to make yourself feel better.

  • You people are retarded, never use gasoline to start bonfires. Use kerosine or diesel. It's totally safe and burns hotter and slower. Gasoline just goes BOOM and doesn't start fires as well. Use kerosine OK??????
