Her project "Night Journey" examines the perceptual and psychological aspects of the dream-state and provides pictorial access to memory and the unconscious. The series incorporates elements of both traditional photography and digital technologies and consists of a suite of lushly printed black & white images printed on Hanhnemuhle Fine Art paper and a room size installation of 4'x8' digital murals printed on chiffon fabric. Inspired by sleeping in a sleep laboratory and being awakened from REM seep, Grant photographs shadows of models and props in her Dallas studio to create the narratives that make up this on-going series .The shadow narratives depicted in the images signify the elusive and impermanent quality of a dream-state.
