I am a fan of Libertad Lamarque and also Eva Duarte de Peron. Whatever happened between the two of them is all in the past. I find it natural for two divas to clash. Both are great and remarkable. I guess since the two ladies are gone, its about time that we END the HATE, INTRIGUES and CONTROVERSIES. Let us PAY RESPECTS TO BOTH LIBERTAD and EVA.

Remember them as women of good examples!

I agre. This isn't a major issue for me. The only point I was making was a simple point: that the blacklisting is unlikely. But when all is said and done, this is just a minor myth regarding Eva Peron -- who is the most mythologized historical figure of modern times!

Totally agree. As I said before, both deserve our recognition of their individual rightful place in our society. The issue of ignoring the well known blacklisting which marked a turning point in the career of the most successful, loved and respected figure of our entertaining culture who lived by high principles and examples and served as role model for generations of artists to come is simply unforgivable.

Interesting that more than 50 years later the interaction of these two women is still being debated. Certainly, they are both famous within their own genres. As I mentioned, my father, who was Mexican (i.e., "Chicano"), was a fan of Libertad's when he was a child.

gee!, you are wrong again and again: Eva was with Peron during the filming of the Cabalgata del Circo and he was already a very high ranking militar (defense). This is "documented". That was enough to be influencial. (do the unbiased research I am telling you).

I agree that this is interesting.I believe that the incident between these two women has been blown way off scale. They probibly get along like two loving and devoted sisters in the wonderful place where they are now. Both were famous and both left their mark behind. VIVA to both.

Estando presente en la década del 80´, ante la Sra. Lamarque, en Librería Ross, Rosario, Santa Fe, ella comentó que algún fabulador creó la patraña del cachetazo con desconocidos fines. Además la Sra. Lamarque agradeció la acción de Evita Perón luego de un terremoto en México, al poner un avión a su servicio y al de su hijita.

I ,myself, believe in the blacklisting. Maybe Eva talked to the high society about Libertad and prohibited her work to be aired. BUT I AM GLAD that LIBERTAD went to MEXICO and lived a LONG LIFE with her beautiful BODY WORK. =)

Here in the Philippines, Libertad Lamarque has a small fan base for her works in La Usurpadora and Carita de Angel. She was a star up to her last breath. Eva was a charitable first lady. I guess I will forever be amazed by these two women. =)
