Yeah, you said that already :-) the question is, who are McCain and Palin joining in the trash can of History? I mean, in what sense are they any more losers than Gore and Kerry? Or any Democrat who didn't reelect, such as Jimmy Carter?

What are the sources of Shari'ah? They are actually 2 DIVINE sources: The Word of Allah (the Qur'an), and the actions, sayings, & approvals of HIS final Messenger (Muhammad), peace and blessings be upon him- a.k.a. the Sunnah.
Muslims are required to do their best to apply legislation coming from a Divine source, and where there is no clear precedent of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) applying it, there is a human effort to implement what would seem to be pleasing to Allah and His final messenger.

Two sources that amount to but one, and very much HUMAN: Muhammad. Either possessed by a jinn (as he believed first) or under guidance from an angel of God (not likely), it's still a product of his mouth, hence man made.

So is this guy Muslim? The Qur'an is Guidance for mankind, so to apply legislation from the Qur'an (called Shari'ah) is to apply the highest form of legislation, originating from the One who is the Creator of everything.
By saying that Shari'ah doesn't work is basically saying that God's system is inferior to man-made systems. I think it's very clear that such a position totally strikes away his belief in God as a perfect, supreme being.
So this is why I question whether he is indeed Muslim.

Or that Shari'ah is just a man-made system.
"such a position totally strikes away his belief in God as a perfect, supreme being"
Or that while God is perfect, all religious systems are man-made and imperfect. The God you worship might be perfect. Your worship is not. Besides, only God is perfect: nothing he creates is.
