Street Photography - Long way home

Due to uncontrolled migration, rapid urbanization and serious overpopulation, Dhaka has turned into a stagnant and jam-packed city. A small distance of ten kilometers becomes long journeys in tightly packed buses. The heat, the sweat and the exhausted air breeds strong attacks of claustrophobia.

My only escape is in photographing scenarios within these confined spaces. Faces become familiar, strangers whose voices I never heard before amuse me with stories filled with drama, sarcasm and a vague sense of hope.

Almost like a voyeur, I point my camera towards them but my mind wanders aimlessly on thoughts not too far from theirs. The photographs I present is an attempt to document those fleeting moments in the fast times of today.
