Ever since I first heard this song, it has always made me think of JESUS...Because of HIS LOVE, through all the sadness and destruction that surrounds us, I keep my hope in HIM...Without HIS WORD and LOVE, I cannot even imagine finding the way to carry on sometimes...For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for peace, not evil, plans for hope and a future...Jeremiah 29:11...I have to believe that for all of us...As dark as the situation is for my brother, I believe it for him, too.

Have you ever googled sheep? They are us and we are them...sheep are noT very smart...the relationship between the shepherd and his sheep are extremely comparable to our relationship with Our Shepherd and US.....Sheep are noT very smart.....lol

Lyrics:

You could say I lost my faith in science and progress
You could say I lost my belief in the holy church
You could say I lost my sense of direction
You could say all of this and worse but

If I ever lose my faith in you
Thered be nothing left for me to do

Some would say I was a lost man in a lost world
You could say I lost my faith in the people on tv
You could say Id lost my belief in our politicians
They all seemed like game show hosts to me

If I ever lose my faith in you
Thered be nothing left for me to do

I could be lost inside their lies without a trace
But every time I close my eyes I see your face

I never saw no miracle of science
That didnt go from a blessing to a curse
I never saw no military solution
That didnt always end up as something worse but
Let me say this first

If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do.

Thank you Sting for all the great great music through the years..and, thank you to you and your wife for all the work you have done for mankind...especially, the children..

  • this is one of those songs that sounds so much better when it is played super loud. Similar to something like comfortably numb for example.

  • @sherrylynn70 I agree with you completely Sherry, Jesus sacrificed all to teach love, compassion, patience, forgiveness, hope for all life no matter what shape it comes to be. Life is Gods energy at work, it never destroys, it only creates. It is the ego greed nature of man (the only true evil) that causes all the chaos in this world. We must conquer our ego, greed, revenge nature in this life, follow Jesus. God bless your insight, reflection about this incredible music:)

  • really good song love sting reminds me of my mom!

  • ps: just i hope you never loose it. :)))

  • its about love and faith, and its up to YOU listener where you get this love from, and where you place your faith. its very personal, and all is good imo. ;)

  • lmao why would you even try... this song is not about god! he is speaking about a girl... the woman he loves.... very touching and beautiful song.... i listen to this when i think of my wife... im watching her right now.... o.o (stalker madness)

  • @JoesMechanic For Sting - or anyone else - to be an athiest is a slap in the face to the One who created him. With this in mind, I would say that using the athiest's creation to glorify God isn't that bad at all. All glory belongs to God - not Sting, not his wife/girlfriend; GOD ALONE.

  • I believe the beauty of a well structured song like this is that it can be interpreted as a message about faith - religiously or secularily. I can handle it both ways but I am a christian so that just adds another dimension for me. What a song! What a musician! What a gift!

  • This is my church music!

  • jesus???????
