I recall someone mentioned that for this video, she actually records her voice making random sounds for each key on her piano. So while singing she plays the keyboard, and thats how some of the distortion sound comes in

Actually no, she uses a vocoder, and by playing keys on her synthesizer it takes her voice that she's singing into the microphone at that time and plays it back in different keys.

She executes this flawlessly and with exquisite passion. After listening to the single so many times, I was awestruck by how effortlessly she took the song in a subtly new direction before my eyes. And just forget about the skill it takes to play her own voice on a synthesizer while singing something so technically demanding.
It's hard for me to think of a more perfect live recording. That is, except for the one she did right before this.
