In the film, Pirates of Silicon Valley, like Jobs and Wozinak showing off the Apple 1 at the Berkely Homebrew Computer Club, their showing of the Apple 2 at the 1977 Computer Fair a year later made a big impression on everyone who showed, including Bill Gates and Paul Allen.

Pirates of Silicon Valley is a made-for-TV motion picture made in 1998 telling the story of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs rise to fame in Microsoft and Apple, respectively.

  • Are they trying to give the impression that this is the moment that caused the rival between Apple and Microsoft?

  • Pirates of Silicon Valley is one of the greatest movies ever. They must release it on DVD.

  • Bill gates got pwnd by jobs. lol

  • R.I.P. Steve Jobs, you brilliant, sad artist. Insanely great. The things you've done, created, and inspired will dwarf Henry Ford.

  • @superdave31 Microsoft made money through deals with hardware manufacturers, and either way they're geeks, before the net, such gatherings where where things happened

  • Did you noticed the video id?

  • @superdave31 Apple didn't have a real OS at the time. If things hadn't been the way they are now, Windows could have been running on Mac for quite some time.

  • i dont get it why are microsodft there? they didnt build pcs only software so why are they looking at apples? (is it because apple did do both)

  • Too bad that Microsoft sells alot more than Apple....

  • Like being a rockstar, except the groupies are all smelly dudes.

  • I'm not quite sure but I think the first Apple][s had integer basic, a basic created by Apple (not Applesoft).

  • Not many was, but the Apple ][ was incredible for its time: color, graphics, sound, upper/lower case, room for seven/eight expansion cards, even today it is amazing.
