@DuskysodaReturns and why exactly should people with differing life goals have to "sustain a real intimate monogamous relationship", whatever that may mean? The monogamous nuclear family paradigm is as much a social construct as anything. I see no reason, other than religious and social conservatism, to consider this paradigm morally superior. In fact, i would argue that given the tribal prehistory of our species, forced jealous possessive monogamy is what is unnatural, not the other way around.
