  • Nice, Joel! I bet Laurie is in -love-! I keep on putting mine out as encouragement for my husband, but alas he does not get the hint. He keeps on pulling it down because I'm not using it and it's taking up door space! Hehe.

  • @aretamarie I've been using it every day so far...even got that little "ridge-line" down my back now! Ha Ha, I want to look a bit more bulked up and Neanderthal...maybe pop out of my polo shirts a little in the shoulders!!

  • @Robynbobbin Yes, my aerial teacher pretty much said that part of gettting good at aerial (besides constantly working on stretching and eating well)...is to lift your own body weight--basically--PULL-UPS! This is what I do: under-arm grip (8 reps), then over-arm grip (8 reps), then narrow L-bracket (up to 12 now) and finally...that "wide grip"--right now I can only do THREE! It's pathetic, but it's coming along. I don't do it all at once...spread it out thru the whole day while doing chores.

  • @Poledancefan The wide grip is great, as it works the muscles that pole doesn't - such a good complement.

  • @jnybeth I'm not poling much...but YES...absolutely in aerial. Saturday was my first day back and I had much less trouble getting inverted on the Trapeze. I have also lost about 5 pounds since the beginning of the summer. I want to be able to climb the silks and Spanish Web when those lessons come around again this year. I do sets of ten pull-ups every day...spread out throughout the day. I alternate "under-arm", "hands-in", "over-arm" and the wide grip favored by the Marines (can only do 3!)

  • have you noticed any improvement with your poling since you've had the pullup bar?
