Opening and second tracks from 1974 "Stanley Clarke" eponymous album. This was your first record for Epic label, and presents a great band : Stanley Clarke (bass); Jan Hammer (keyboards); Bill Connors (guitar); Tony Williams (drums); Airto Moreira (percussion); Horn session: Lew Soloff, Peter Gordon, Daid Taylor, Jon Faddis, James Buffington, Garnett Brown. I hope you enjoy!!

  • Vulcan Princess was part of Chick Corea's "Where have i known you before" album if I'm not mistaken

  • @nudgler you're totally right, my friend.

  • this is the best song ever omg i love this shit-is there anybody else out here?

  • Thank you for the comment!

  • @thingplate

To this day my sister hates this cut. Her room was next to mine when we were young and she accuses me of "Blasting" it up to 20 times in a row on some nights. I must admit I probably wore down the vinyl on this cut. Now years and years later I'm playing it again on Youtube for the 5th time and I'm just getting warmed up....lol. This cut introduced me to the Jazz/Fusion type music. I had never heard a Bass guitar played like this before and it was "Mind Blowing"

  • Thanks for the cool participation.

  • I had forgotten what a master Tony Williams was on those drums! Not to mention the rest of the performers on this gig! What a great album!

  • One hell of a funky tune!I remember the fusion movement back in da 70's and I totally missed some artists! playing catch-up now!

  • 4:01 RightHere

  • @freein2339 I give it a go once in a while. I like it better now, after a couple listens. But I'm still a bit turned off by the tenor bass.

I'm more into Stanley's skills as a songwriter.

  • @BassFever74 Do you actually play Bass...???

  • why am I supposed to like this?

  • Stanley was only about 18 or 19 when he did this masterpiece.

  • J.o.b

  • THIS WAS OF STANLEYS GOOD WORD ON ELECTRIC BASS ALEMBIC BACK IN DA DAY WAS BOMB

  • 4:01 is the real.
