Asleep at the Wheel plays "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66," at the concluding party of the annual National Trust for Historic Preservation Conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma, October 25, 2008 at Cain's Ballroom.

I started recording as soon as I realized which song this was, but missed the beginning. Jason Roberts, fiddle player for the band, said it'd probably be OK to post this, so I'm going with that. Band website: http://www.asleepatthewheel.com/

I've never been much into country, but I'd pay to see these guys again. (note added January, 2012: I did in fact pay to see them again, in December of 2011 in Fayetteville: http://www.blog.thelope.com/2011/12/yuletide-fun-in-fayetteville.html

  • used to see them at a club in Santa Cruz CA called the Catylst this was a really good size place and they would pack it. the end of a set and the evenings last number would be amazing. thanks Wheel for some great memories.

  • Great to see a recent AATW performance! BUt what happened to the members who were with the band in the 1980s and '90s?

This band is simply the greatest. :)
