I'm Dedicating This Video To A Dear Friend Of The YouTube Reptile Community, And A Great Friend Of All, Cutegayjason. In A Live Chat We Watched His Baby Green Tree Pythons Hatching Out And The Topic Of "Taming" Snakes Came Up Several Times And Questions About Getting Bit In Relation To Him Handling His Big Burmese Pythons On Camera
Big Congratulations Jason!!!!
I'm 5 foot 9 and weigh 130 pounds and I've been bit by my big Boa Constrictors, but NEVER did they make any effort to kill me.

I'm making this video to show people that with patience, work and determination with handling we can establish a trust bond with our snakes regardless of their size.

However, they are still snakes and will always have a fierce feeding aggression.

Working with your snakes on a regular basis is very important to maintain that bond and they should never have to go for long periods without feeding or without human contact if you expect them to be manageable to any degree.

When handling big snakes they require your FULL attention at ALL times and NEVER assume you won't get a bite if you are negligent or complacent.

  • @foxracer4lyfe Check your inbox messages that's where they go to when someone sends you a message on your channel :O) I've always raised Boas love them to death and actually I'm a big fan of all the larger Boids and Pythons.

  • @foxracer4lyfe Your info said you joined youtube in 2007 so at least you've had your account for awhile but regardless, nice to meet you and especially someone else that likes the Boas.

  • Very cool very cool man!!! Thank goodness my snakes are only seven foot, id never be able to pick one of yours up!! haha even my little boas give me a hard time getting back in their enclosures .. maybe I need to hit the gym lol :)

  • @foxracer4lyfe Thanks :O) I only weigh 140 pounds and am only five foot nine but once out I can handle them one at a time. Will send you a link to one of my videos. I've worked with them for ten years and they are actually gentle giants. Mine give me a hard time getting them to come out and are always eager to get back in, They have a condo for an enclosure LOL

  • @BMWmotorsport47 You have to consider that other than Anaconda's being the largest of the Boa species the Boa Constrictor Occidentalis are the next largest of the Boa species. They have been documented at 14 feet long and well over a hundred pounds in captivity and I have a friend in South America that confirmed the wild species exceed 14 feet. Mine are only ten years old so still have plenty of room to grow :O) Argentine Boas aren't anything like the common Boa much different as far as needs.

  • Those are large Boas. I have a Columbian Boa which Ive had for 15 years since a baby. No problems with him whatsoever. He's 7ft and weighs about 14lb so not a handful at all. It's amazing how easy going he is. Yours seem good as well. Is it normal for Argentine Boa's to grow to 11ft? or are yours just very large examples?

  • @Sakura0754 Really? How many Boa Constrictor Occidentalis have you raised? If any then you realize they can get well over 100 pounds and up to 14 feet long. These aren't common Boas so obviously you don't know much about this species !!!
