  • So Clough has the first and last word on everything? If Clough says it everybody has to agree? How sad it that. It's true Leeds had that reputation very early in Revies's reign but by the time they won the league in 69 then no. Why then did the Kop applaud them when they paraded the trophy there? If they were cheats etc they would have been booed!

  • A great side who never got the credit they deserved because of their tough approach to the game. Make no mistake these boys could play too. If you think 1970 was bad for Leeds, Celtic Lost the League Cup Final SFA Cup Final and European Cup Final in the space of 40 days! Great days though, good old fashioned passion. Hope to see you back at the top one day.

    Respect from Celtic

    Hail Hail!

  • leeds goalie gary sprake is related to me believe it or not

  • Munich 1975, super night, cheats finally got beat at thier own game. Revie the cheat and his match fixing ways

  • I agree with martynhanson.

Leeds were a great side, able to field 11 international players at a time when football was a much tougher game. Anyone criticising Leeds' tough approach should remember the likes of Ron Harris at Chelsea or Tommy Smith at Liverpool.

As for Brian Clough, he may have been a talented football manager, but too often he said things merely to create a sensation.

  • 3:41 Roman baths?

  • piss off daily mirror - richard stott - they have always hated Leeds

    Cunts

  • lived in england for 7 year, leeds is my team now....ehm whos the 4.28 guy? sorry .

  • Leeds were a great team but Christ the sight of Don Revie in a pink sweater is just plain wrong.

  • No, it's Don Revie's fault that everyone hates Leeds.

  • There's some stuff of Jimmy Johnstone on here, the shame is that many games weren't filmed in his day.

I wouldn't say he was one of the best 5 in the world, but I'd rather see him play than almost anyone.

My best 5 in no order would be Pele, Maradona, George Best, Johan Cruyff and Bobby Charlton, but that's not the same as the ones I'd most like to have seen play.

My most entertaining 5 are Johnstone, Best, Matt Le Tissier, David Ginola, and JJ Okocha - they all made football look fun.

  • @jackHNv: In my response to "FTMJarra" a month ago, I agreed that Best (arguably one of the top 5 best players of all time in my personal/subjective opinion) was better than all other British players. I also emphasized: "in his day" Eddie Gray was as good and entertaining as Best and pointed to the Leeds vs. Burnley game. As for Jimmy Johnstone: I've read similar praises about him, and your point is well taken. I'll try and hope I can find some clips (if available) about him.
