The song is "It's my life" by the Animals.

  • Sorry that I couln't upload any videos in the last time, but I' gonna put a few more up the next days, so watch out ;).

Till now I don't know any Yardbirds-song but I promise that I'm gonna work them out for you.

I also plan to upload a few "Searchers" tunes.

  • awesome, i love it!

  • @ picure

    Vox Apollo!

    Great Axe!

and thank you for all the nice words!

  • Is that a custom bridge?... oh please tell me you didnt change the bridge~

  • @picure

Yes unfortunately the bridge was replaced by a Music Man style bridge, when I bought the Bass recently.

But I am going to restore it into its original condition, because it's just a great Bass! :-)

  • Thanks!

I can post more Animals, Yardbirds, Searchers etc. tunes.

    Well, about the pick:

All the 60s British Invasion Bass players played with picks, and if you play such a deep sounding Rivoli, it only sounds good played with a pick :-)

  • I seem to see people knocking this guitar all the time, because they see the mudbucker-looking pickup and they expect it to sound like an EB-0, and they're always disappointed when it sounds almost nothing like it. I think the thing has the most beautiful voice. I would love to buy one, if they reissue it again any time soon.

  • I had a Rivoli an used fingers all the time.... a great guitar, fast neck... Had a Fender Jazz bass too but used a plecky at times with that one.

  • is the pickup a single coil or a humbucker?

  • how much can you pick tone of these up for if you don't mind me asking?

    Lovely tone

  • this sounds amazing :D

  • funny that both the animals bassplayer stopped doing music and started producing in 66 just like samwell smith, bassist for the yardbirds did the same in 66.

  • Hey could you please tell me the string spacing at the saddles of the bridge?

  • very nice, well done

  • Very well played. Just a pity we can't see your left hand fingering the notes. If you post any more videos, how about sitting back a bit more from the camera?

  • awsome looking bass man, good sound too, were you the first owner, these bass are so rare
