This week sees the 250th anniversary of the death of composer Georg Fridrich Handel. The main celebrations are taking place in London,where Handel spent most of his life and composed his most famous works. But Handel actually came from the city of Halle in Saxony-Anhalt and came to the attention of the musical world playing the organ in its churches. During the Baroque period,the region was home and inspiration to many top composers. But what is Halle like today? And could it produce another musician of Handel's caliber?
