... Marisa, Alice, and Sakuya try to stop her, because loss of the Hakurei Border means no Gensokyo. Upon being knocked unconscious, Reimu sees Yukari in her "dream", and realizes that Yukari will always be there for her. Reimu wakes up (during her sleep Marisa put her head on her lap) and isn't sad anymore. At the scene where Yukari's hat was taken away, I believe this is when Yukari comes back, and takes her hat, because she's not Yukari without her hat. This may have also been a "joke". ;)

Here's what I think happened: The Hakurei Border was collapsing, and Reimu tried to stop it. She failed, so Yukari stepped in, and when she fixed it, she disappeared, but it looked like she had died from Reimu's viewpoint, due to the lights/power/something. So Reimu thought Yukari had died, and was really sad. Then Reimu found that one book thing, which may have said how to possibly control borders (IDK Japanese). Reimu goes insane from sadness and tries to destroy the Border; The others...

@RougeMephilesClone Actually there is quite a belived theory that the Yukari we aer seeing is'nt even the real Yukari. It is belived that the inside the gap's are the real her and the girl we see is just an avatar.

@Random1a2b3c4d5e6f7g here's the thing, she's the hakurei miko. she has complete control of hte hakurei border. if she dies, a new miko HAS to be there to take her spot. also, the barrier is what basically holds gensokyo together. and another thing, in CtC, Reimu CREATED gensokyo from her dreams.

I totally called the "just hiding" hat grab at the end. This is Yukari we're talking about, whatever disaster happened was probably secretly arranged by her so that she had no way of being harmed (permenently, at least). If Yukari was really dead, wouldn't the Border cease to be?
