Chikotah Gets His Hair Cut

On October 21 2009 Chikotah Duffy cut and donated his hair to the Canadian Cancer Society in Williams Lake BC. His hair will be made into a wig for a child in Canada who suffers from Cancer. Chikotah has suffered alot to grow his hair, he has had to endure every form of bullying and even assault due to his having long hair.

In the early weeks of October Chikotah was suspended indeffinately for bringing a knife to school, He thought he had to have a knife to defend himself from the bullies who told him they were gonna kick his @#$ for being a fag, a girl and a loser for having long hair. Twice my son has been abused for having long hair and when he tried to defend himself (unbeknownst to me) he was kicked out of school and the bullies were not dealt with.

Im not condoning my son taking a knife to school but I am condemning the school for not dealing with the bullies. And the teacher who told my son if he maybe dressed more like a boy (his favorite color being pink for Breast Cancer awareness and didn't have long hair maybe bullies would leave him alone this is appauling though Chijotah refuses to tell me which teacher said this it is a downright shame that a teacher can get away with speaking to a nine year old this way!!!

Chikotah grew his hair for 1 year and 8 months to donate it for Cancer Im very proud of my nine year old son and Im thankful people will watch this and see what an amazing child he is.

I am VERY proud to report that Chikotah is Growing his Hair again... 2 years since he cut it he is Growing back out,,,, I am so happy that he is growing it again. He is determined to show he can do this!

I let my son keep his long hair till he was 6 years old. We wanted to donate too but the place I chose wrecked the hair and it was un-useable. Congrates to your son! I hope other kids think or their fellow peers in need :)
