  • Hi there, how are you?

Nice vid, just thought id mention that my parents where trained by 'Gunji Koizumi', the founder of the budokwai. My mother was 4th dan, my uncle was 6th dan, Judoka, budokwai. ;) I was trained by them from the age of 6ys;) Im was just surprised you made no reference to Gunji Koizumi. ~ Nice vid though ;)

  • Brilliant video... Mr Jacks was my instructor on saturdays at the Budokwai when I was a lad....back in the 60's

He caught me chatting, made me stand up and walked around me ....then...flipped me in the air ( felt like a double sommersault ) and I landed on my ass! Yet I never felt him touching me??? Yoda or what! Ha!

  • Now that is what I call a true dojo man. There is such a rich tradition of judo at the Budokwai, and it is renowned the world over. I would love to visit it someday as well as the Kodokan to enrich my judo knowledge and to pay my respects. Thanks for posting.

  • Please note that we have written to YouTube in the USA telling them that Easy Lover by Phil Collins used in the Angelo Parisi video section was part of the FFJDA original SECAM VHS video produced in France circa 1985 and I am certain would have had all the appropriate permissions. Hopefully the sound wil be put back on soon.

  • AMAZING! Thanks a lot!
