Parrot Growling at Dog

Our parrot didn't like the dog getting too close to the cage, so started growling at him. That's a switch!

I don't know if you realize this or not, but that is a really small cage and is very sparse accomodations for a Grey. He needs to be in a much larger cage with lots of chew toys. He also needs perches with variable diameters so he does not get cramped feet. Also, if you put his food in different containers, wrap some treats in paper or an empty toilet paper roll folded closed at each end, hide some in boxes or toys, you will keep him busy and happy with foraging. Growling is parrot aggression.

@5onCover - Oh my, I should have made this clear. That's just our "carrying cage" to go to the vet. The parrot isn't usually out on the porch, so not usually around the dog either. But we were doing some pest control at the time, and I wanted to be sure she didn't breath any fumes so that's why she was in a small cage on the porch.. Anyway, she has lots of toys & various size perches in her home cage, plus a play gym right next to her cage. She has a lot of freedom, and is really quite spoiled!
