Adjusting your ferrets to the heat - www.Ferret-World.com

It's starting to get warmer and ferrets do not handle the heat very well so what do you do? The worst thing you could do is to turn the airconditioning striaght on. In fact, you should let them adjust to the heat (while it is fairly mild). Let them lose their winter coats and get used to the warmer days so that when it really gets a lot hotter they will be able to cope a lot better. Obviously when it does start to heat up to the point where it could get dangerous for them then you should take the necessary actions to cool them down:
-put them in a cooler room
-put frozen ice bottles in their cage
-put icecubes in their water
-turn the airconditioning on
-etc.
