SCHOLARS ABOUT MACEDONIA (Letter to Obama)

More than 300 prominent scholars sent a letter to Barack Obama, asking him to take measures againts FYROM's propaganda and the protection of the Greek history of Macedonia.

From which it follows that the ancient Macedonians were related to the Greeks, genetically and culturally. And I say this based on arguments, the current "Macedonia country" has absolutely nothing to do with the ancient kingdom

I am a Serb, and as u know we lived together in one country Yugoslavia, so u know my brother Greeks that i have some sympathies to, lets say fyrm ppl. BUT.. Greece should insist about Macedonia name.The main reason is that 99% of ppl worldwide make conections between name of ppl and country name, so i dont want to be unpolite to americans ( i worked with them, so i know ) .they are the biggest ignorant.Continue with your fight, u have right.

I agree that the real Macedonian land is a greek province. I disagree that the greek society of today carries all the culture and traditions from the classical times. You are far better than that and your culture has developed, not been stagnant. As always with me, I can elaborate in pm's with longer explanations. :)

Macedonia is traditionally divided into two main regions, the Upper and Lower Macedonia. It was a land of wheat and pastures, villagers and horsemen, and with a small sea coast. Historians believe that the inhabitants were Greek Doric dialect, like those in the region of Epirus and the Peloponnese Rhodes, and who spoke a Greek dialect very close to these regions.
