This had over 800 hits before I had to pull it down to make some repairs. Analysis piece of the June 1, 2010 protest of the flotilla massacre outside the Israeli Consulate (111 E Wacker Drive #1308) in Chicago. The Sun Times said 1000 protesters attended. Their coverage is here: http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/2343520,CST-NWS-gaza02.article Covering things like this got me in trouble as a journalist. Now, as a mass media scholar and educator, I feel free to employ a sardonic twist when covering such events. During week 2 of the CPD torture trial, I was reminded of David Rovics' "After We Torture Our Prisoners"-- written for the U.S. policy regarding Iraq/Guantanamo Bay/Torture. It seems to apply to the present situation, however. "I Wanna Go Home" is perhaps a song more on point. Apologies for acting like I was at a Kinks concert when I spotted Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers. You know it's a demonstration you belong at when you see them. Maybe it's a sign the 'progressive movement' will get back off the sofa.
