Barney, the water buffalo

In the South of China, one can easily find the everpresent water buffalo helping to till just about any rice field. Barney, the water buffalo, is a 3 year old male living in Ping Le, a small village just outside of Nanning City in Guangxi Province. We stayed here for 2 nights living and enjoying farm life and creating what seemed to be an inseperable bond with the great beast. A full grown water buffalo will cost about 1000 US dollars to purchase, but is not so easy to transport.
