Spacecraft's made an early morning pass today over the hawaiian islands at 4:57am HST.
Time lapse footage of the Space Shuttle Endeavour STS-134 currently docked with the International Space Station (ISS).
Traveling approximately 4.59 miles per second and 250 miles above the earth.
Very sad to see the shuttle fleet retiring. I remember when I was in grade school back in 1970 and living in Sunnyvale, Ca.
Took a field trip to NASA Ames Research Center located next to the now decommissioned Naval Air Station Moffett Field.
They showed us kids a prototype/design of this spacecraft that would blast into space and fly back to earth like an airplane.
Of course most of us kids were skeptical about it.
The first Space Shuttle named the Enterprise blasted off for it first flight in1977.
Amazing!
