From July 7-9 of 2009, students at New York University's Interactive Telecommunication Program (ITP) participated in a 3 day workshop about ITV on digital cable, learning about EBIF and tru2way, system architectures, and developing demo apps using the TVWorks XDK. Run by Prof. Shawn Van Every, the workshop was the first of its kind at a US university to actually build EBIF apps. OEDN interviewed Shawn to get his take on where student developers could possibly take a technology like EBIF and how this will be incorporated into a future ITP curriculum (possibly as soon as this fall).
